Montana gained statehood in 1889, and it has a rich history from its frontier days. Some of the earliest businesses in The Treasure State are still standing, and this little historic restaurant in the tiny town of Emigrant is one of them.
Old Saloon opened in the tiny town of Emigrant in 1902, to serve as a way station for visitors traveling to Yellowstone on the train. Cowboys, miners and tourists all mixed together in this little restaurant/bar, and there were plenty of wild times to be had back in the day.
Old Saloon is a great place to grab a filling breakfast before your Montana adventures. The breakfast burritos are stuffed full of tasty ingredients, slathered with green chili sauce and served up with crispy hash browns.
For lunch or dinner, you'll find tons of tasty fare on the menu, from burgers and sandwiches to delicacies like elk meatloaf and perfectly-grilled steaks.
