This Timeless 1940s Restaurant In Montana Sells The Best Tenderloin In America
Located in Red Lodge, the Rock Creek Resort is a relaxing retreat where many Montanans choose to spend a weekend or host a wedding or other special event. It also happens to be the place to go for some seriously amazing elk tenderloin, served at restaurant that dates back to the 1940s.

The resort is owned by a couple from Austria. They came to Red Lodge in the 1960s and (understandably) fell in love with it.

The building has quite a history. It was originally a homesteader's cabin in the 1920s, then it was used as a community and cultural center for music and dance in the 30s by local ethnic groups. It made its restaurant debut in the 40s, and the rest is history.

No wonder locals have enjoyed dining here for so many decades.

The menu consists mainly of American classics like steaks, seafood, and pasta, all of which is tasty...

The 6 oz. tenderloin is served with a huckleberry port demi-glace and topped with fried carrots.

The Huckleberry Creme Brule is to die for, and the OPD Hot Fudge Sundae is big enough for two.

The Executive Chef, Barrie, never disappoints.
Have you ever eaten at Old Piney Dell? Montana is full of unique and unforgettable restaurants.
