Montanans tend to be pretty humble, and that’s a good thing, because let’s face it—we do some things, like deal with winter, better than most. When winter hits, most people complain and spend three solid months inside… but not us (for the most part). We (sort of) embrace winter in Montana… because if we didn’t, we’d be miserable for half the year. Here’s why we do winters right in the Treasure State.
Yes, winter is cold and it can be inconvenient to get around. But that doesn’t mean we stay home and hibernate (well, all the time, anyway). Growing up in Montana won’t make you immune to the cold, but it does make you tough.
Cabin Fever Days, a 39 year tradition, are held every February in Martin City. They include tons of fun activities including barstool races. The Barstool Ski Races are as wonderful as they sound.

Whitefish Mountain, Bridger Bowl and Big Sky are some of the best spots to ski in the world… but luckily, not everyone in the world knows that.
