Speaking of haunted hotels... this one, which dates back to 1882, has quite a history. Long ago, a cowhand drunkenly rode his horse into the hotel and up the main staircase before the bar manager shot and killed him. To this day, phantom hoofbeats can be heard on the staircase, and a male ghost in a long coat has been spotted across the hotel. If you stay in Room 202, you just might see mysterious blue lights dance across the room.

The Lobby Bar can be found in the lobby of the old Davenport Hotel and is apparently home to between 12 and 20 spirits, according to the many paranormal investigators who have explored it. Employees and guests alike have had terrifying experiences here. Take a ghost tour and see for yourself.

There was also a suicide at Elks Lodge in 1936, and the ghost of a woman in a long dress is often spotted in the halls.

If there was ever a place that was understandably haunted, this would be it. This battlefield was the sight of a lot of bloodshed, so it's no wonder that it's prime spot for paranormal activity, from sounds of men screaming to apparitions at night.

This haunted hike comes with a tragic story. Madame Guyot, the wife of Constant Guyot, was murdered (probably by her husband) inside the hostel she ran. And since 1877, Montanans have been seeing the ghost of Madam Gayot in this area.

The stories from this old orphanage are sometimes troubling, so it's no wonder that past employees reported hearing and seeing strange things. The building is now private property, so it's tough to experience it for yourself. But maybe that's a good thing.
