There’s nothing better than enjoying a delicious meal in a beautiful setting. Some of Montana’s best food comes from restaurants that aren’t much to look at . And while one should never judge a restaurant by its cover, sometimes it is nice to celebrate a special occasion in a restaurant that is as lovely as the food. These are some of Montana’s most beautiful dining spots.
1. Whitefish Lake Restaurant, 1200 Hwy 93 N., Whitefish
Located at the Whitefish Lake Golf Club, this fine dining restaurant is beautiful on the inside and out. They serve lunch and dinner in the dining room or on the deck.
2. The Keep, 102 Ben Hogan Dr., Missoula
This castlelike beauty of The Keep is unlike anything else in Missoula, and the relaxing golf course setting doesn't hurt, either.
3. Feast Raw Bar & Bistro, 270 W Kagy, Ste C, Bozeman
Not only is the food here wonderful (salt roasted oysters or pork belly carnitas, anyone?), but the decor is incredibly charming. No wonder Feast is so popular.
4. Harper & Madison, 3115 10th Ave N., Billings
This cute, casual brunch spot is one of Billings' best, and not just because of the European inspired decor... although that certainly doesn't hurt.
5. Union Grille Restaurant, 1 Grand Union Square, Fort Benton
Fort Benton's most beautiful historic hotel happens to have a beautiful fine dining restaurant that sits right on the river. How perfect is that?
6. Horn and Cantle, 800 Lone Mountain Ranch Rd., Big Sky
There's certainly no shortage of beautiful steakhouses in Montana, but this brand new Big Sky spot embodies the kind of rustic elegance we love here. Plus, the food is quite tasty.
7. Pearl Cafe, 231 E Front St., Missoula
Sophisticated and romantic without being pretentious, the Pearl Cafe is a wonderful place to celebrate a special occasion or to take a great date.
8. The Hawthorn, 46 Last Chance Gulch, Helena
The Hawthorn is a wine bar and a bottle shop, but they do serve cheese platters, appetizers and small snacks. The elegant ambiance will make you want to stay all night and order glass after glass.
9. Split Rock Cafe, 30 2nd St. E, Kalispell
This locally owned and operated gem serves breakfast and lunch from a beautiful historic building. The sandwiches and burgers are out of this world.
10. Emerson Grill, 207 W Olive St., Bozeman
From the main dining room to the gorgeous patio to the art gallery that's available to rent for private dinners, everything about Emerson Grill is beautiful, including the locally sourced and organic Italian cuisine.
11. Serenity Bistro, 38 N Canyon St., West Yellowstone
Tucked away on a corner on Canyon Street is the always adorable Serenity Bistro, which never ceases to impress tourists and charm the locals. The food and service here are top notch, and so is the decor.
