The beauty located throughout Montana is unmatched by any other state. Of course, those who live in the state certainly already know this. While incredible scenery and landscape are great, there’s one main drawback. Having access to some of the most incredible views in the world can cause some serious decision fatigue. Luckily, we’ve found one that might be the best of the bunch. If you love getting outside, check out this waterfall hiking trail in Montana.
If you're headed to Glacier National Park, you'll find myriad trails, views, and things to do. But, if you only have time for one hike, we have one you'll want to try.
The St. Mary and Virginia Falls Trail is located just off the Going-to-the-Sun Road, making it convenient to access if you choose to take this popular scenic drive.
While the main attraction for most hikers is likely to be the two waterfalls and the beautiful creek, the journey along this waterfall hiking trail in Montana is just as incredible.
But, it's not long before St. Mary's Falls can be seen. This two-tier waterfall drops about 50 feet and it's one of the most visited falls in the park.
Once you've had your fill, simply turn around and head back the same way you came until you reach the trailhead.
St. Mary and Virginia Falls Trail in Glacier National Park can be accessed year-round, though people generally say it’s best between January and September. There’s a fee to access the park, which changes depending on the season. For more information, be sure to check the official Glacier National Park website.
