Sam Martin and William F. Mosby were the first owners of this place, which is where the name M&M came from. Although it has changed hands many times since, the name stuck.

The eatery and saloon originally opened to serve the local miners, many of which worked odd shifts. They loved coming here to fill up on delicious food and play a few arcade games.

From the get-go, this place was open 24 hours a day, serving breakfast all night long. The doors were never locked. One owner even threw away the keys.

We can neither confirm nor deny that liquor was still secretly sold in the back. The bar has also had some legal trouble, including raided by the Attorney General Marc Racicot for gambling violations in 1989. It has closed briefly a few times, but someone always finds a way to reopen it.
These days, the arcade and contraband liquor are long gone, but a full restaurant and legal bar remain.

And while the place is no longer open 24/7, they do open daily at 7 a.m. and stay open late (10 p.m. on weeknights and midnight or 1 a.m. on weekends).
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served daily, and the menu consists mainly of classic American fare like burgers, steaks, omelets, and salads.

The food is tasty, but people also come for the ambiance. This entire place has been refurbished and maintains both a historic charm from the 1800s and a trendy 1940s Art Deco facade from its last major remodel.
