There are new, trendy restaurants popping up all over Montana these days. And while we love to see businesses thriving, especially after all the recent uncertainty, sometimes nothing tops enjoying a meal at an old-fashioned establishment that has been around for decades. Our diners especially seem to know just what kind of comfort foods we’re craving.
For the better part of a century, the Missouri River Diner in Great Falls has been serving patrons hearty breakfasts and burgers with a smile. And these days, both the food and service here are better than ever.
The Missouri River Diner is located at 1000 River Dr. N in Great Falls.
In 1948, they moved to their current location and became a traditional diner. It was an instant success. The space expanded in the 1970s, when the U.S. saw a revival of the diner culture.

While it may be odd to see things like Bibimbap on a diner menu, these new additions have been extremely popular. Owner Sang Soon Almer, also known as Julie, grew up in the Billings area. She learned Korean cooking from her mother. When the pandemic hit Montana, she decided to offer something unique in addition to the classic diner fare. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.
But whether you order an omelette, a burger, or Korean cuisine, one thing is certain -- you should save room for dessert here.
