McAllister Inn Steakhouse In Montana Is Off The Beaten Path But So Worth The Journey
With a population of fewer than 300 people, McAllister is a small town by any definition. Located on U.S. 287 about six miles north of Ennis, it’s certainly not a well-known destination. However, this tiny town is harboring a pretty big secret, at least if you love a delicious dinner. McAllister Inn Steakhouse attracts patrons from all over Montana (and beyond) — it’s that good.

It's the only restaurant in town, but it's the only one you'll need.

The bar has its own menu, which is full of casual fare like burgers and bacon mac & cheese, but also has fancier options like escargot.

This building has been home to a bar and restaurant of some sort for decades. Since the McAllister Inn took over years ago, it has been remodeled and spruced up.

Better yet, you'll have your choice of soup or salad and baked, twice-baked, or house-made au gratin potatoes.

This 30-ounce Tomahawk Ribeye is topped with wild morel mushroom cream sauce. We realize an entree of this size would make it difficult to save room for dessert, but you should try the Truffled Creme Brulee or Chocolate Mousse anyway.

There are 10 clean, comfortable motel rooms on the property you can rent for around $145 per night.

The McAllister Inn is currently open from 4 p.m. - 9 p.m. on Thursday through Monday.
