Lake Josephine is a gem hidden deep within the park, and when the light hits it properly, it’s a beautiful deep sapphire blue.
Luckily, you can reach it with an easy one mile hike.

Lake Josephine is primarily a brook trout lake, but sometimes kokanee salmon are caught. The surrounding mountains sometimes protect the area from harsh winds, making it easier to fly fish.
Mt. Gould, Allen Mountain, and Grinnell Point all tower above the lake. It's also an easy hike from this area to Grinnell Lake, another breathtaking sight.
