Kayak Out To Wild Horse Island In Montana To See An Island Filled With Wildlife
Wild Horse Island is the largest island in the beautiful Flathead Lake, spanning 2,165 acres. Despite its name, there aren’t many wild horses left there, although you might see a few if you’re lucky. That being said, plenty of wildlife still call the island home… and the island is close enough to shore to be a pretty easy kayaking destination.

Your journey length will depend on where you depart from, but it typically takes kayakers about an hour to reach the island.

If you don't own your own equipment or you're a beginning kayaker, you'll definitely want to sign up for one of their Wild Horse Excursions.

And since your tour cost includes a kayak, all equipment, and plenty of instructions, all you'll have to do is paddle along.

Your tour guides will take you on a hike, provide a delicious picnic lunch, and give you binoculars so you can check out all the wildlife.

You might even catch a glimpse of some coyotes and wild horses, although they're a bit more elusive.

Every Montanan should get to experience it, especially by kayak.

This is a paddling adventure like no other.
