Given its abundance of mountains, rolling hills, wide open spaces, and nationally-known state parks, Montana certainly has its share of stunning scenery. You could spend months exploring Big Sky Country without seeing all of the incredible views it has to offer. These 13 locations are a small sample of the breathtaking beauty of our state and are where you can easily find some of the best views in Montana.
Glacier National Park is the most photographed area of the state and where many of the best mountain views in Montana are found. In this national park, there’s something special about this spot at St. Mary Lake.
This is the best spot to watch the sun set over the city. The Mount Sentinel “M” Trail is also where you can capture incredible mountain views in Montana. You'll see the Bitterroot Mountains to the south and Mount Jumbo and the Rattlesnake National Recreation Area to the north.
You can catch plenty of views of this beautiful lake thanks to the hiking trail that winds around it. There is also a fantastic trail by the same name which you can explore on AllTrails.com.
The highest point on the Going-to-the-Sun Road is an excellent vantage point for viewing wildlife and sunsets. This is also where you can capture some of the best views in Montana.

Climb Peets Hill, located at the north end of this 40-acre park, and you’ll see why Montana is called Big Sky Country. While here, you might want to enjoy a side adventure along the Gallagator Linear Trail.
10. Four Dances Recreational Area

Southern Montana has plenty of breathtaking views, too. If you've never been to Devil's Overlook at Bighorn Canyon, you are missing some of the best views in Montana!
The Beartooth Highway is a 68-mile stretch of US Highway 212 and offers some of the most scenic views in the state.
