It all started in 1924, when a man named John Burklund invented the pork chop sandwich in Butte.

Burkland started selling the sandwiches to hungry miners and locals out of the back of a wagon (you could say he also invented the food truck long before its time).
The pork chop sandwich was such a unique invention that demand continued to grow.

In 1932, Burklund opened his first Pork Chop John's location at 8 W. Mercury St. Currently, there are two locations in Butte.
The pork chop sandwich is still as popular as ever, and it's easy to see why.
