However, if you’ve ever spent any time on Bear Canyon Road or camped at the Bear Canyon Campground, you may know exactly what we’re talking about. This area is packed with paranormal activity, and no one can quite explain why.
In the winter, its ski hill is wildly popular. And in the summer, it's all about the hiking and camping here.
But according to the Bozeman Paranormal Society and many firsthand accounts, this is a place for spirits, not just a spirited place.

It became even more popular when a downhill ski area was developed around 1941. While we don't know what may have occurred to warrant paranormal activity here, the possibilities are endless.

Some of them have heard their names called by a little girl (yikes!) and smelled cigarette smoke even when no one was smoking. One of the members received a phantom phone call (a call from a strange number with nothing but static on the other end), which is especially creepy since people don't get cell service in the canyon. There have even been a few alleged Sasquatch sightings in the area.
Regardless of your beliefs regarding the great unknown, this really is a spectacularly beautiful place. Just don't follow any spooky little girls into the woods and you should be just fine.
