This Ghost Hunt In A Former Montana Prison Isn’t For The Faint Of Heart
The Old Montana Prison Complex in Deer Lodge is a fascinating place to explore. Once the site of the Montana State Prison (and before that, the Montana Territorial Prison), it’s filled with history… and possibly more than that. If you’re feeling brave, you can take a ghost tour and see for yourself if the prisoners ever left.

While it looks charming by the light of day, inside it's pretty eerie, especially at night.

The system of managing inmates at the Montana Territorial Prison wasn't a fun one. Prisoners worked in groups during the day, slept in solitary confinement at night, and adhered to a strict code of silence. Of course, this method was doomed to fail.

The last riot in 1959 led to several deaths, including that of Deputy Warden Rothe.

Each tour costs $50 and lasts from 9:30 p.m. until 2:30 a.m.

Prior investigations have been quite successful. The prison was featured on The Discovery Channel's Ghost Lab in 2010 and Haunted Collector in 2012. There are plenty of recordings of voices and other unexplainable spooky sounds.

If you do, you just might catch some orbs like these (or something even spookier).
