As much as we love summers in Montana, there’s something about the early autumn air that makes us especially thankful to live in the Treasure State (realistically, it’s probably the knowledge that the cold and snow are coming, so we need to enjoy the outdoors while we can). While there are plenty of places to peep the early fall colors in our beautiful state, we’re especially fond of Frenchtown Pond State Park. Check it out in mid-late September and you’ll see exactly what we mean.
Frenchtown Pond State Park is located on Frenchtown Frontage Road, and it's one of the area's main attractions.
With a maximum depth of 18 feet, it's not a large body of water by any stretch of the imagination. But it's beautiful nonetheless, and it's a great spot for bass and sunfish fishing.
