Visiting Montana is undoubtedly a great idea, whether you’re coming from across the country or just another town in the state. With outdoor opportunities, great food, and nice people, it’s easy to see why millions of people visit Montana each year. One of my favorite things about the state is the many unique areas to explore. Love seeing the landscape from way up high? Head to the mountains! Enjoy cooling off in the water? Head to any of the lakes and rivers that exist in every corner of the state. Even those who love city life have plenty of spots to choose from. One of the best places to stay in Montana, this vacation home rental in Missoula offers the perfect home base. Check it out for great food, fun shopping, and even access to the great outdoors.
The city of Missoula was founded in the 1860s. It was a major trading post and its location along the Clark Fork River made it convenient for all sorts of industry. Today, it's known for its higher education, restaurants, and history as well as proximity to some surprisingly easy-to-access outdoor activities.
Unlike the concrete jungles of other cities, Missoula feels like a breath of fresh air most days. Sitting right on the Clark Fork River means it's often just a quick walk to some of the most beautiful scenery. Caras Park sits right on the banks, offering areas for picnics, lounging, and outdoor games. Throughout the spring, summer, and fall, you'll find outdoor events, festivals, and concerts here.
The city of Missoula is worth exploring for a long weekend. And, to help make that happen, we've found one of the best places to stay in Montana. Located right downtown, directly across from Caras Park this modern, spacious condo offers three bedrooms, three bathrooms and sleeps eight people.
With three different floors, there's plenty of room to spread out and almost every window looks out over the Riverfront Trail. The condo has been professionally designed and decorated, making it both comfortable and gorgeous.
It's certainly the perfect place for exploring everything the city has to offer. Shopping is always a great way to get to know a city and one of the most notable spots to visit is the Montana Antique Mall. Located within the old Montana Hotel building, this 15,000-square-foot adventure can keep you entertained for the better part of an afternoon.
There are tons of places to enjoy a meal downtown. One of the best is Soup Farm on N. Orange Street. Featuring fresh, local ingredients, this is a great way to get a taste of Montana.
In addition to being a great getaway spot, Missoula is also remarkably family-friendly. After a day of exploring, including eating some seriously great food, head back to the condo with a stop in Caras Park to enjoy the carousel.
Then, relax in the large living room recounting your day. You won't need to worry about missing out on the sights, the park is right outside your door.
While Missoula is a fantastic city to explore, this incredible condo is a great place to simply sit around and enjoy the company of those you're traveling with. Available year-round, you might want to consider a cozy winter weekend cooking up meals in the large kitchen or reading by the fire.
