Tucked into the countryside of Montana is Sentinel Ranch, home to a large herd of fluffy, funny, and people-friendly alpacas. Thanks to the Harvest Host program, you can camp there amongst these furry friends.
The ranch breeds and sells alpacas and they run tours, events, and a shop from their property.
Visitors are allowed to make camp on the property and most of that traffic comes from the Harvest Host program, an organization that connects RV campers with unique locations around the United States.
The understanding in the Harvest Host program is that RVers will stay on the property with their new alpaca friends for a night and in exchange will support Sentinel Ranch, the local business on site.
This might mean patronizing the shop or paying for a tour. Sentinel Ranch also hosts events on-site if you're looking for an extra special venue for your next celebration.
Alpaca fur is known for being extremely warm and can be found in the Sentinel Ranch shop in the form of luxurious sweaters, warm accessories, and cute, cuddly toys.
In an effort to enhance the camping experience Sentinel Ranch has installed solar panels for recharging, water tanks, outdoor showers, and an upscale glamping-style accommodation.
Even if you're not participating in the Harvest Host program you can camp on-site. The mission remains the same, to support a fantastic local agriculture business... and to pet some really cute alpacas!
