The Beautiful Restaurant Tucked Away In A Montana Forest Most People Don’t Know About
In a state as vast as the Treasure State, it’s safe to assume that there are a lot of hidden gems. And one such spot sits on the Lewis and Clark Trail on the East Fork of the Bitterroot River, surrounded by forest. It’s called the Broad Axe Lodge, and if you rent a cabin here, you’ll definitely want to enjoy dinner at the restaurant.

The lodge is Site 23 of the Montana Birding and Nature Trail.

The food here is delicious and the service is exceptional.

The owners, Tom and Barb, put a lot of effort into maintaining the place and serving delicious food, and it shows.

They also have an excellent salad bar, a children's menu, and a reasonably priced wine list.

Scenery like this would be tough to leave.

The dining room is open for dinner from Wednesday-Sunday. Reservations are recommended... although this is a hidden gem, the dining room is small, and those who know about this place tend to come back.
The Broad Axe Lodge is a must for anyone out exploring the Bitterroot. Another wonderful secluded restaurant is the Gallatin Riverhouse Grill.
