You Can Sip A Beer In An Old Blacksmith's Shop At This One-Of-A-Kind Montana Brewery
As of this year, Montana is ranked second in the nation for its number of craft breweries per capita. We love our beer here in the Treasure State, and we also enjoy a beer with a backstory. And if you happen to be in the Stevensville area, you can drink a cold one inside an old blacksmith shop.

It originally served as a steam laundry, but quickly became a blacksmith's shop. And since the blacksmith used to burn every brand he made into the wall to ensure it was perfect, you can still see the evidence of its history on the walls.

The brewery is open daily. Sunday through Thursday hours are 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., and on Fridays and Saturdays, they're open from noon to 8 p.m.

While Fort Benton's slogan is The Birthplace of Montana, Stevensville was the actual first permanent settlement.

Good news: It's fantastic. The brewery serves a rotating selection of specialty brews, but they always have their four mainstay beers. The most popular is Brickhouse Blonde, an American-style hefeweizen. Cutthroat IPA is also a favorite.

However, you should keep an open mind and sample some here. By keeping things simple, the team is able to focus on perfecting the art of beer-making.

It seems as if this historic brewery in a historic town is making some history of its own.

However, if you want your beer or flight served on a railroad spike or an anvil-shaped platter, you'll have to come straight to the source.

Whether it be for the IPA or the history, Blacksmith Brewing is a must see when you’re exploring the charming little city of Stevensville.
