The Bighorn Canyon In Montana Is A Big Secluded Treasure
We’re gearing up for another beautiful summer here in the Treasure State, so we thought we’d recommend one of our favorite spots on the planet. The Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area is one of our finest gems, and there’s no better place to go to get away from it all for a while.

It straddles the border between Montana and Wyoming, and the scenery is magnificent.

The dam, which was named after the famous Crow chairman Robert Yellowtail, turned the waters of the Bighorn River into a magnificent lake.

And considering the recreation area is composed of over 70,000 acres, it's safe to say it's easy to get away from it all here.

That's where you'll find the Yellowtail Dam Visitor Center, which is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

The Bighorn River below the Afterbay Dam is a world-class trout fishing destination, and Afterbay Lake is fantastic for both bird watching and fishing.

And it took millions of years to form, with sediment forming rock and natural erosion slowly creating this natural wonder.

Add it to your must-see list this year, especially if it's been a while.
Have you experienced the Bighorn Canyon yet? It’s simply breathtaking in person.
