What are some other beautiful places to visit during the winter in Montana?
Here in the Treasure State, our winters are long and harsh, and we believe that the best defense against the frigid temps is a soak in one of our myriad hot springs! We have so many amazing hot springs here in Montana, some of which remain open all year long. Some of our favorite places include: Spa Hot Springs Motel in White Sulphur Springs, Fairmont Hot Springs over in Anaconda, Bozeman Hot Springs in Four Corners, and Quinn’s Hot Springs Resort in the aptly named Paradise. Winter is a great time to take a relaxing soak in a hot springs pool, and luckily the Treasure State has plenty of picture-perfect hot springs resorts and geothermal pools from which to choose. Which one will you visit first?
What else is so unique about Big Sky, Montana?
Big Sky certainly gets our vote for the best winter town in Montana, but really, it's an amazing place to visit anytime of the year. Big Sky is located in southern Montana, a cozy community in the Rocky Mountains that lies northeast of Yellowstone. Only about 3,000 people call this area home, although they get plenty of tourists throughout the year. The town of Big Sky may be small, but it's a perfect home base for year-round recreation. Winter is, of course, a popular time to visit; Big Sky is considered Montana's top skiing destination, and the slopes stay perpetually packed all season long. But we're partial to the spring and summer months, when the landscape of Big Sky comes alive in verdant greens and winsome wildflowers. Residents here have unparalleled access to the outdoors -- you'll be surrounded by hiking trails, fishing streams, and so much more! Swoon.
