We’re lucky to get to experience all four seasons in Montana — but that doesn’t mean we don’t eagerly anticipate summer’s arrival like a bunch of bored elementary school children. Now that it’s (finally) upon us once again, it’s time to plan a few exciting warm weather adventures.
Since busy schedules make it tough to get away for too long, you can always plan a nice day trip when you need a little break. This one takes you to Montana’s liveliest ghost town with plenty of treats on the way.
Start your day by treating yourself to a delicious brunch, preferably on a patio. We highly recommend Jam! on Main Street in Bozeman, one of the newer spots in town with some seriously scrumptious food.
Since its opening, Jam has already become one of the top spots in Bozeman for breakfast. Their menu is expansive and includes all the classic favorites, plus some creative eats.
There are over 3,000 lakes in our state (that we know of!), so you'll have no problem finding some waterfront space to relax. This is Quake Lake, which was caused by a 1959 earthquake.

Once you've enjoyed a hearty meal and the beauty of nature, it's time to head to Virginia City.
This is the season when you'll see people in costumes walking the streets, you can take a stagecoach tour, and you'll have your choice of live performances to see.
This old mining town is remarkably well-preserved, and it's a must-see for all Montanans.
