1. Falls Creek

The stunning Falls Creek Falls can be found near the town of Townsend near Longfellow Trail. This is the largest waterfall in Montana (that we know of), and it's pretty impressive.
2. Skalkaho Falls

Located near Philipsburg on the scenic Skalkaho Highway Scenic Byway, Skalkaho Falls is an impressive sight. The small Skalkaho Creek tumbles over the rock slope for about 150 feet. Skalkaho Falls flows all year long, but it is most spectacular during spring runoff when the mountain snows melts away. There is a refreshing cool mist from the fresh mountain stream as you explore around the base. The waterfall is highly accessible, so it's a popular stop for drivers.
3. Kootenai Falls

Known as Montana's tallest waterfall, Kootenai Falls is located in the picturesque northwest region of Montana, and it requires using a jaw-dropping suspension bridge to get close to it. Even if heights make you nervous, it's well-worth the journey!
4. Triple Divide Falls, Glacier National Park

This unique waterfall is actually a series of three small falls. Triple Divide Peak sends water to the Pacific, Atlantic and Arctic oceans. The Continental Divide and Northern Divide, which direct water flow into the oceans, converge at the peak’s summit. This means the water that falls on Triple Divide Peak flows into the Pacific Ocean, Atlantic Ocean, or Arctic Ocean (through Hudson Bay). This really is a must-see when you're at Glacier National Park.

Of course, if you're looking to immerse yourself in the beauty of the Treasure State, there's no better experience than Going-to-the-Sun Road. This trans-mountain highway is 50 miles of pure Montana majesty, carved out of the earth and mountains of Glacier National Park. And while Glacier is certainly one of the most wondrous national parks in the country, Going-to-the-Sun Road takes the experience to another level entirely. The road is 50 miles long; full of twists and turns, peaks and valleys. Designed to blend in seamlessly with its striking surroundings, all of the road's bridges, retaining walls, and guardrails were constructed using native materials. Going-to-the-Sun Road was - and still is - considered to be a triumph of modern engineering. Going-to-the-Sun Road is located in the heart of Glacier National Park and is the only road that actually traverses through it. This is not unintentional. Glacier National Park, established in 1910, originally had no trans-mountain road, so this project was approached with extreme care and caution. The surveying, planning, and construction took over 12 years from start to finish -- and it was well worth the wait. Drive it, and you'll agree!
