The Authentic Western Restaurant That's Worthy Of A Road Trip From Any Corner Of Montana
The menu’s description for the Bison Tenderloin entree simply says, “Welcome to Montana.” That’s a good summary of the atmosphere at Stacey’s Old Faithful Bar & Steakhouse in the town of Gallatin Gateway. A series of renovations have maintained the authentic, old-school look and feel of a saloon and eatery that dates back to 1937. From the traditional food offerings to the rodeo photos on the wall, this place just says, “Montana.” And it’s not contrived, because Montanans just would not allow that to happen. Current owner Brett Evje labels himself a fifth-generation Montana and he’s committed to preserving the establishment’s historic aura.
Gallatin Gateway is 13 miles from Bozeman, just off Highway 191 on the way to Big Sky. Stacey’s bar side is open daily; the kitchen and steakhouse are open Wednesday to Sunday. On those days, guests of all ages are welcome and a children’s menu is offered. Live music often is performed on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings.
