Hopefully some of your New Year’s resolutions are travel related… because if you live in Montana, you’ll want to get out and explore it in 2017. Of course, you can’t see it all, especially in a year. But with proper planning, you can check out quite a few places on this list.
Shouldn’t this just be a given in any year? We think so.

Not only is it one of the most impressive bodies of water in the known universe, it’s a fun place to be, especially in the summertime.
There’s a reason this museum is so popular. Even if you’re not that into the past, one visit will make a history buff out of you.
Montana’s first and best known state park has one of the most decorated limestone caverns in the Northwest. And if delving deep into a cave is not your idea of a good time, the park also features 10 miles of hiking trails, picnic areas and a 40 space campground.
This beautiful trail is 1.6 miles round trip, so this is the perfect hike to take if you’re a beginner or you’re just not up for as much of a challenge.
