Mmm. Cheese. The addictive dairy product that can be enjoyed as a recipe additive or solely on its own. Adding a simple slice of American cheese to a sandwich is okay, but when you really want to blow your taste buds away, artisan cheese is the way to go. Luckily for us, we have a phenomenal cheese farm right here in Missouri.
Green Dirt Farm is located in Weston and in addition to its farm, it features an event room, a creamery, an on-site shop and a dining area.
The farm is located 4 miles way from the creamery. You can schedule a tour to learn about the cheese process at the farm, then head over to the creamery to enjoy a meal or sampling of their cheeses.
When it comes to tending to their sheep and pastures, this farm is as green as they get.
Green Dirt Farm is Animal Welfare Approved which means that they raise their animals humanely and outdoors on a pasture. The sheep are also grass-fed which not only keeps them happy, but helps create a better product. The milk of grass-fed ruminants contains more omega-3 fatty acids, conjugated linoleic acid, beta-carotene, and vitamins E & A.

If you're looking for a little more substance to your cheese, then try out one of their savory sandwiches. You can either choose a protein packed sandwich, such as the "Paris, Mo" which is comprised of smoked ham, Wooly Rind cheese, Swiss cheese and butter all on a freshly baked baguette or a fancy grilled cheese like the "The Moo One" which is filled with the Aux Arcs, Ruby and Swiss cheeses.
Build your own cheese board or have the staff of cheese experts create your own. Wow your guests with the eclectic selection of cheeses and jams, all locally made.
Green Dirt Farm also has an amazing event room in their beautiful, covered barn. When it's not being rented for a private event, it's where Green Dirt Farm hosts their own events.
Indulge in all of the unique flavors that the farm has to offer.
Green Dirt Farm usually has 10 types of cheeses to choose from when building your own board. A couple favorites include the 'Ol Smokey, which is soft ripened with smoked paprika and the creamy Bossa which is described as brothy and floral.
The deliciousness doesn't stop at their cheeses, enjoy some homemade ice cream while you're there.
Using the milk produced from the sheep, the farm creates amazing ice cream flavors to be enjoyed after a savory, cheesy meal.
