As kids, spending extra hours in the classroom wasn’t exactly something we’d cheer about. However, you’ll want to stay an extra night or two at this beautiful, historic schoolhouse hotel. Once a prestigious academy, Arcadia Valley is now a full-service bed and breakfast.
Arcadia Valley Academy once stood as a prestigious academy for girls, until it shut down in 1971.
Following the school closure, the property served as a convent for nuns until 1985. The property is now home to a bed & breakfast, bakery, boutique store and full-service restaurant.
Spend the night in a beautiful suite or a cozy cottage.
Arcadia Academy has quite a few accommodation options. There are 5 suites and 9 cottages to choose from on the property. If you're on a tighter budget, you can book one of the smaller European-style rooms or share a large family-style room with another family which features 6-10 beds in a room.
You'll be enchanted by the Historic St. Joseph Chapel which was built in 1908. The chapel is considered the most beautiful structure at Arcadia Academy due to its magnificent stain-glassed windows.
Three Abbey Kitchen is open throughout the week for both overnight and day guests to indulge in some of the most mouthwatering American-style meals you'll find in the area.
If you're able to pry yourself away from this beautiful refuge for a few hours, then I highly suggest checking out the rest of what Arcadia Valley has to offer. Johnson Shut-Ins State Park, Elephant Rocks State Park and a few wineries are all within a short drive from Arcadia Academy.
The Academy is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and the property has been in the Arcadia Valley longer than any town, most of the churches, and most of the homes.
