Before Young's Lodge became a premier hunting lodge and bed & breakfast, it wore a couple different hats throughout history.
It once was and old tavern and mill. Many people passing through on the Overland Trail during the mid 1800s stopped at the mill to rest. Historians believed that Jesse James and his gang often traveled through here and used the mill to hide out. Once the railways came into play, less people came through this tavern and mill and it lost its popularity. It then became a barn and now, a bed and breakfast and hunting lodge.
The property is 320 acres large and sits near the Chariton River.
In the main loft, you'll find a 55" flat screen TV, pool table, foosball table and even a Texas Hold 'Em card and poker table.They also have Xbox 360 and electric drums and guitars for guests to enjoy.
