Wintertime’s perfect for curling up with a cup of hot chocolate and watching the snow tumble down gently outside. However, it also offers us some thrills – from bumper ice cars to sled riding – and unforgettable festivals. Bundle up for a day outdoors at this epic winter festival in Missouri that will likely leave you in awe.
Mark your calendar for Saturday, January 29, 2022, for the annual Fete de Glace St. Charles Ice Festival, which runs from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Stroll down the road and watch as artists create ice sculptures from a lone 260-pound ice block. Ice carvers work on two blocks along North Main Street.
Bring along your camera, so you can take photos during the festival, and don’t worry if it gets too cold outside. You’ll find several fire pits along North Main Street, perfect for warming up.
Downtown St. Charles is also home to a generous assortment of shops and restaurants. Grab a bite to eat at one of the eateries, or do a bit of shopping in between watching the ice carving.
