It’s hard to believe that the magic of Disney was created right here in the Show Me State. Walt Disney may be one of Missouri’s most famous residents. The Disney family moved to the small town of Marceline 1906. Today, visitors can see where Disney learned to draw and stand in the same fields that inspired him to create a world of magic for people all across the globe.
Walt Disney carried a love of his Missouri hometown with him throughout his life. He even used the small town of Marceline as inspiration for much of Disneyland.
While in Marceline you can see other Disney sights. The Dreaming Tree where Walt and his brother Roy went for inspiration unfortunately fell in 2015. However, Walt's grandson planting a seadling from the original tree in it's place. This little tree is growing into something mighty.
