Start with Earth to Air and Beginner Yoga Basics, a workshop-style class that breaks down yoga poses and suspension yoga poses. Aerial yoga is a combination of traditional floor yoga poses and postures practiced using a soft fabric "trapeze" (called a "sling") suspended at either knee, hip or waist height. Although it might seem extremely difficult at first glance, in truth, newcomers enjoy working with the sling because gravity and inversion provide less pressure or stress on the joints, especially the spine.
