Are you looking for one of the most unique family attractions in Missouri? Crystal City Underground is an amazing complex that has activities your whole family will enjoy. This abandoned mining facility is now home to multiple indoor sporting activities and is also a great space for other unique events. While they are currently making repairs from recent flooding, you will want to be sure you’re first in line once they officially re-open the whole complex.
Crystal City Underground is located in Crystal City about 40 minutes south of St. Louis. It can be a little difficult to find and is definitely off the beaten path. Even your GPS will have difficulty locating the facility.
This 200 acre underground facility boasts multiple activities and is about 60 degrees year round. The caves used to be a sand mine which is why the facility is so large and open.
Canoe and kayak tours are a great way to explore the caves. These tours will take you into spots of the cave that are only accessible by kayak and you'll get a great workout!
The owners are working hard to re-open everything as soon as possible. They will also be honoring Groupon tickets once the barge tours are up and running again.
