While we may not all have the same accents, we Missourians have a lot in common. Our shared quirks are what make us different from all those other mid-westerners. Missourians are known for being pretty stubborn, after all, we are the Show Me state and these are the 10 quirks that we would defend until the end.
All Missourian's love baseball but we all can't agree on the same team. Whether your rooting for the Royals or the Cardinals, nothing gets the state excited like an I-70 Series.
There is nothing like filling up your cooler and hitting the river for an all day float. A true Missourian has a favorite river for floating and can tell you the pros and cons between taking the canoe, raft, or inner tube.

3. Knowing the best way to eat ravioli.

While this delicacy may have been created in St. Louis. Toasted Ravioli is a statewide treat. Once you try them toasted you'll never go back to ravioli in a can.

4. Going to "The Lake."

If you tell anyone in Missouri you're going to the lake, we all know where you are headed. The Lake of the Ozarks is every Missourian's summer destination. We might not have beaches but we know how to have a great cove party.
While we may have moved on to a bigger and better conference, we don't forget our past. Ask any Missourian and they'll tell you we still love to see the Jayhawks lose.
Almost every Missourian has experienced tornado warnings. It's hard to take cover when you're watching the storms come in. We know when it gets serious though, it's time to take cover.
In true Missouri fashion, we've got to see it to believe it. Ted Drewes custard is served upside down to prove that it's thick and creamy. Plus, its been voted world's best ice cream.
While some people would throw out the burnt ends of their BBQ, Missourians have turned it into a delicacy. We many not always agree on who has the best BBQ but burnt ends are always the best.

9. Singing the alternative ending to the National Anthem.
While every American knows the words to the National Anthem, you may be surprised to hear a different ending in Missouri. Chiefs fans have been shouting "home of the CHIEFS!" at the end of the anthem and no one plans to stop anytime soon.
This is the first question any Missourian, especially if they are from St. Louis, will ask upon meeting a stranger. Don't expect a Missourian to ask how you are until we've gotten the rundown of where you grew up.
Missourians can sometimes feel like they are worlds apart from those who live on the other side of the state.
