11 Underrated Places In St. Louis To Take An Out-Of-Towner

When company arrives from out of town, they will surely have a list of their top attractions to visit. Those places will mostly include our zoo, museums, and parks. While all are fantastic attractions and world class venues, they only give a glimpse of all St. Louis has to offer. This list features 11 of the places we go and love, a real slice of St. Louis life.

Located in the historic Bevo Mill and built by the Anheuser Busch family, Das Bevo has restored the greatness of this landmark. Das Bevo offers authentic German food for lunch and dinner, and also features an amazing Sunday Brunch. You can book weddings and special events inside this castle-like Windmill too. The selection within the Bierhall offers many local craft brewery selections as well as an impressive wine list.

Dead Wax Records STL - Facebook

Cherokee Street is one of the oldest commence centers in St. Louis. Now home to antique shops, funky art stores, and specialty shops, this neighborhood is one your guest will love seeing. Dead Wax Records is a must see when you visit. The specialty store features vinyl records at unbelievable prices, music memorabilia, and always offers a friendly laid back attitude that Cherokee street is famous for. Cherokee Street is also a great place to stop for the best Mexican food in St. Louis.

Eureka is home to many great attractions, including Six Flags. While many families come to St. Louis to spend the day at Six Flags, it is also a nice trip for those who are empty nesters. Spending the day here just enjoying the carnival-like atmosphere will make anyone feel like a kid again.

Sure, there are many fancier places to get a pizza in St. Louis. But when your guest is tired after a long day of sightseeing, offering them a square of Imo's pizza is sure to be a hit. Always dishing up a great pizza featuring the famous provel mix on this authentic St. Louis thin crust pizza, this one pizza joint could be the one thing they come back to St. Louis for. White Castle - Yelp

Opening its first store in 1932 in St. Louis, White Castle is an icon symbol of home here. There are other places fortunate enough to have White Castle in their cities, but if your guest has never experienced a freshly cooked slider, then this will be a treat for them. There are many locations in the St. Louis area and you'll have no trouble spotting the blue and white buildings as you navigate the city. This is the South Lindbergh location.

Blueberry Hill is a great stop for a guest who loves music, Chuck Berry, or just really great food. Sadly, Chuck Berry has passed but his spirit is alive within the walls of Blueberry Hill. Located in the Delmar loop, this venue is close to many other night time attractions if your guest wants to sample the party atmosphere in St. Louis.

One of the founding neighborhoods in St. Louis, Soulard is a great place to show your guest our biggest farmers market, take a walking tour of the restored buildings, and get a feel of the lasting French legacy of St. Louis.
