If there’s one thing we St. Louisans agree on, it’s that we love a great celebration. There’s one coming up soon that everyone should love. The Festival of Nations in Tower Grove Park isn’t just epic to attend. Its mission of bringing together St. Louisans and the world for two days of food, dancing, music, and shared experiences is the kind of awesome planning we could all use more of. Best of all, admission and entertainment are free! Take a look below at all this event has to offer.
This festival is hosted by the International Institute of St. Louis. Their mission is to help new immigrants build a great life in America. And they have been doing this work for almost 100 years.
Each country represented at the festival has its own booth. Each of the 30 booths lining the World Bazaar is an immigrant-owned business or an ethnic organization. They offer jewelry, drums, Indian scarfs, Ecuadoran clothing, and much more.
There are more than 40 different food vendors offering food choices from American to Vietnamese. This could be the only place to have authentic Scottish Haggis and mash, Nepalese Chicken korma, and Kurdish falafel together for lunch.
If you crave more traditional fair food, the Festival of Nations has you covered with the American food booth. Along with the standard fair food of hamburgers and hot dogs you'll also find fried Oreos, a shaved ice flavor station and pocket sandwiches for eating on the go.
The Festival of Nations is a shoppers paradise with handmade goods from all over the world. Where else will you find a monkey, a cat, and a chicken hanging out with Elmo? Don't let the warm August temperatures keep you from buying such cute hats. Winter really is just around the corner!
Three stages will come alive, hosting music, dancing, and performances from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
This event is truly a melting pot of food, handmade goods, and great people! Avoid the dinner rush and secure your seating for the shows you want to see by checking out the event schedule as soon as you arrive.
Don’t forget your hat! Innovation, up cycling, and one of 101 things to do with a beer box were seen at last year's Festival of Nations. What will you see when you visit this year?
Tower Grove Park has been home to The Festival of Nations since 2010. With 289 acres of park space, this event continues to grow each year.
Mark your calendars this festival is just around the corner. Event dates are August 26 – 27, 2017. Visit their official website for more information.
