Autumn is about to get a whole lot more fun and delicious. The St. Louis Renaissance Festival returns for its 23rd year, and it’s going to be jam-packed with family-friendly activities and events. Tickets for the multi-weekend festival have already gone on sale, so make sure you get them soon, and mark the calendar for an adventure the whole family will love.
The St. Louis Renaissance Festival makes its return the weekend of September 18 and will run through October 24, 2021. This year features an extra weekend of fun as well as Monday, October 11.
Held only on Saturdays and Sundays, the popular annual renaissance festival offers free parking. However, if you park in spots labeled “No Parking,” your vehicle will be towed.
Bring the whole family along, including your pooches, to one or more of the themed weekends. Highland Fling kicks off the festival with such planned contests as the kid kilt contest, the adult kilt contest, and the hula hoop contest.
Other themed weekends include Pups, Pints, and Pirates; Shamrocks and Shenanigans; and Oktoberfest. Keep an eye on the official website for the announcement of contests for those weekends.
Don’t forget to check out the games, too. You can try your hand at ax throwing or knife throwing, or discover the Tomato Torment. An escape room, scavenger hunts, and pony rides are also on the schedule.
Save time to shop at the artisan market. All of the excitement at the festival will lead to a growling stomach, and you’ll have a ton of delicious ways to satisfy that hunger.
Indulge in everything from fish and chips to chicken on a stick. The faire food will also feature such favorites as funnel cakes, fried mac and cheese, and jalapeno poppers.
