Let’s hear it for the drivers of St. Louis! If you live and drive in St. Louis, you’ve helped the city earn a spot on the list of the best drivers in the nation. In fact, St. Louis came in at seven out of 35 cities, in a recent study released by QuoteWizard.com. Kansas City, on the other hand, sits on the 35th spot out of 40 for the worst driving cities in the United States. Here’s how QuoteWizard.com came up with its rankings.
QuoteWizard.com, a website that provides insurance quotes, first identified the 75 largest cities in the United States. Only St. Louis and Kansas City in Missouri made the cut.
Insurance quotes were studied to determine which cities had the most incidents and which had the least. QuoteWizard.com looked at four criteria, or incidents, to rank the cities.
Drivers receive citations for a variety of offenses – from failing to stop at a red light to distracted driving, such as texting while driving or talking on the phone while behind the wheel.
Those cities that tallied the fewest incidents earned a spot in the top 35 while those cities with the most incidents earned distinction as one of the worst driving cities.
