St. Louis just welcomed more than 13,000 new residents – otters, sloths, and sharks, to name just a few – and you’ll definitely want to stop by and meet them. The brand new St. Louis Aquarium in Missouri provides a glimpse into different aquatic worlds and promises fun for the whole family. The aquarium, in fact, will also host a number of events and activities that will keep you coming back again and again.
Carve out between one and three hours for your visit to the St. Louis Aquarium at Union Station, the city’s newest attraction and an interactive experience that promises fun for the whole family.
Begin your adventure at the 120,000-square foot aquarium on an interactive train ride. From there, you can explore six areas of the aquarium – Navigate the Confluence, Traverse the Global Rivers, and Delve into Shark Canyon, for example.
If you want to get a better understanding of how the aquarium works, join one of the behind-the-scenes tours. For an additional fee, you’ll set off on a half an hour tour that provides insight into the care of some of the 13,000 sea creatures at the aquarium.
Before you head to the aquarium, you’ll probably want to buy your tickets online. Tickets are sold in 15-minute increments, and time slots tend to fill up quickly. Annual passes are also available.
The St. Louis Aquarium is right at Union Station, which also offers a full menu of activities and places to eat, including The St. Louis Wheel, miniature golf, the Mirror Maze, and a massive rope course.
