Missouri State Penitentiary welcomes visitors for tours of the historic prison that opened in the 1830s. Inmates had few rights and were treated horribly. Today, many of their spirits are said to linger in the prison. Prisoners are often seen wandering the prison grounds. However, if you reach out to one of them, chances are he'll simply disappear.
