When you think of beautiful flowers, the Missouri Botanical Gardens often comes to mind. However, their other lesser know site, Shaw Nature Reserve, should be your go-to destination for wild flowers.
The blooming season begins in early April. Winter Aconite is often the first flower to pop up after winter. It seems like the fields at the Reserve fill with flowers overnight.

Daffodils, tulips, and other spring flowers are abundant at the reserve. As the weather continues to improve more flowers will pop up all over the park.
The Shaw Nature Reserve is open year round from 7 a.m. until sunset. Admission is free for garden members and children, $for adults, and $3 for students.
