We’re all about good food in Missouri. We know how to make it, and we certainly know where to find it. Missouri is a culinary paradise – the home of gooey butter cake, toasted ravioli, and St. Louis Style Pizza – but it’s perhaps best known for its finger-licking good barbecue. Treat your taste buds to some of the best of the best at this epic BBQ challenge in St. Robert, Missouri, a three-day event that draws barbecue fans from around the state.
Get ready for the most delicious weekend of the spring in St. Robert during the three-day Kickin’ Route 66 Barbecue Challenge that's set for March 22-24, 2004.
The annual event generally takes place the last weekend of March, so this is a change for 2024.
Held at the St. Robert Community Center, the popular event will feature two contests that will showcase some of the best chicken, pork ribs, pork, and beef brisket. All teams must adhere to rules outlined by the Kansas City Barbecue Society.
The weekend will also feature a full menu of family-friendly events, including the 5K Color Run; the fun begins at 5:30 p.m. at the pool. There is no fee to participate.
Kiddos can get in on the fun and competition, too. The Kids Q will get underway at the Community Center at 9:30 a.m. Participants must pre-register by March 8, 2024.
