We never know what we’re going to discover when we go exploring in Missouri. Even if we’ve visited a state park dozens of times, we’re likely to stumble across something we didn’t know existed. Rock Bridge Memorial State Park in Missouri, for example, is brimming with natural beauty – from unique rock formations and a cave to a natural bridge and a waterfall. A visit deserves to shoot straight to the top of your bucket list.
Hidden within the more than 2,270 acres of Rock Bridge Memorial State Park in Columbia is an abundance of natural gems, including a natural rock bridge and Devil's Icebox.
Connors Cave Trail, a .07-mile trek, will lead you straight to the unique rock formation. The cave does tend to flood, so you might not want to visit if it's rained heavily in recent days.
One of the highlights of the park, Devil's Icebox is a double sinkhole that features an underground stream. Tours of the cave are currently unavailable to help protect its resident bats.
Rock Bridge Memorial State Park is also popular with bikers and horseback riders, so you have several relaxing ways to explore the park and its natural wonders.
Have you been to Rock Bridge Memorial State Park in Missouri? What’d you think? Share your experience in the comments! If you’re a fan of breathtaking rock formations, plan a visit to Elephant Rocks State Park in Belleview.
