Here Are The 10 Richest Cities in Missouri
If you find yourself wondering about what the richest cities in Missouri are, we’ve got some answers for you. Check out the cities/towns with the highest median family income in our state with a population of over 1,000. While many of these areas are in the St. Louis area, they each have their own great qualities that you will be able to appreciate from the moment you arrive. Have fun exploring the Show-Me State!

Kicking off our list of the wealthiest cities in Missouri is Kearney. This town is most famous for being the birthplace of the notorious outlaw, Jesse James. Besides the Jesse James Farm and Museum, Kearney also features an Amphitheater, Watkins Mill, and Kearney Historical Museum. They have experienced tremendous growth in recent years, and have good schools and a great cost of living. Visit them on the 3rd weekend in September for Jesse James Days, an annual festival focusing on the outlaw.

Lee’s Summit was listed at 44th in 2008 and 27th in 2010 in CNN/Money and Money Magazine’s list of 100 Best Cities to Live in the United States. It is the 6th largest city in the Kansas City Metropolitan Area and 6th largest in the state as well. One of their attractions, Longview Farms, was featured in the Haunted Houses article earlier this month. They also claim Missouri Town 1855 and Lee’s Summit Historical Cemetery as local attractions.

Defiance, Missouri is full of great things to do, from the fabulous restaurants to the natural beauty you can see everywhere you go in the town.

Ballwin is a lovely town that is a great place to live at any phase of life, whether you are raising a family, just starting out in life, or enjoying a well-deserved retirement.

Another city on this list of the wealthiest cities in Missouri that is from the St. Louis area, Eureka is a charming community located along Interstate 44. Besides being home to Six Flags, they also feature The Timbers recreation center, numerous trails, and close proximity to St. Louis without the hassles of big city life.

Situated around two lakes between Interstate 70 and Interstate 64 in St. Charles County, Lake St. Louis was a planned community that started as a private resort community in the 1960’s. It's now one of the richest suburbs in Missouri. In addition to the lakes, the city also features several golf courses, great shopping, tennis courts, beaches, swimming pools, riding stables and parks. Locals say that "it’s like being on vacation every day!"

Grover is another town in St. Louis County that is actually incorporated with Wildwood, Missouri. In fact, Wildwood’s city hall is located in Old Grover. Featuring the charming boutique hotel, the Wildwood Hotel, which is a short drive to many amenities including Six Flags, and all the St. Louis attractions.

It's located in western St. Louis County, on the west side of the Meramec River, north of Eureka. It is in the southern part of Wildwood and is located just off Route 109. Attractions include the WF&P Railroad, a Steam Railroad providing 30-minute tours along the Meramec River, Glencoe Park, and the LaSalle Retreat Center.

Rounding out this list of the most well-off communities in the state is Chesterfield, the richest city in Missouri.
One of the biggest advantages I see to living in any of these areas is that, even though you are close to things, you are still able to enjoy a different atmosphere than you would be living right in the middle of the city.
