Missouri’s small towns ooze charm all year round. However, when Christmastime rolls around, they become simply enchanting – twinkling with lights and brimming with holiday cheer. With the season chock full of fun activities and events, we might not have time to pack it all in. Try to carve out a day, however, for a visit to the most delightful Missouri Christmas town. It looks like it’s straight out of a Norman Rockwell painting.
A glittering Christmas tree greets visitors and townspeople as they arrive in Historic Downtown Hannibal, a magical Christmas town that's a must-add to any holiday bucket list.
Perhaps best known as Mark Twain's boyhood home, Hannibal hosts a charming Victorian Christmas each holiday season. The annual festival runs from late November through Christmas Eve.
On one magical evening, the festival features living windows. If you can only make it to this Missouri Christmas town once, make it December 10, 2022 between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m.
The Mark Twain Boyhood Home will also host holiday tours throughout the Christmas season. Meander through the intricately decorated home on one of the evening tours. Admission is free.
