Summer was just made for leisurely floats, wouldn’t you say? Sure, we’ve got sandy beaches, swimming pools, and water parks, but there’s nothing quite as refreshing or relaxing. Even those of us who prefer hiding in the A/C will admit that a float does the soul a whole lot of good every now and then. When your thoughts turn to summer, keep this nighttime river float in Noel, Missouri, at the forefront. It’s a one-of-a-kind adventure in Missouri that should shoot straight to the top of your bucket list.
We all know that a float down the river, our feet dangling in the cool water, is an idyllic way to spend a summer day in Missouri, but what about the night owls among us and those who don’t have a lot of free time during the day? Well, we head to River Ranch Resort in Noel.
River Ranch Resort is the place to be on Friday evenings from Memorial Day through Labor Day for the weekly Glow Float, an epic adventure down the Elk River under the moonlight and twinkling stars.
The float, which meanders from Sycamore to River Ranch Resort, sets off at three times – 8:30 p.m., 9 p.m., and 9:30 p.m. – on Friday evenings. Floats generally take between one and two hours.
One of the coolest parts of the nighttime float is all of the tubes and rafts glow blue, red, green, and yellow. You’ll glow, too, thanks to glow sticks.
All you have to do is choose whether you’d prefer a tube or a six-person raft, and pay a fee that includes the cost of the tube or raft (you can bring your own, too), transportation, and life jackets.
You’ll be provided with glow sticks to decorate your raft or tube. If you want to decorate yourself with bracelets, necklaces, and other cool creations, you’ll have to bring your own glow sticks.
