A true Missouri summer is all about lazy days spent floating down the river, barbecuing in the backyard, and cheering on our favorite baseball teams. Our schedules are usually jam-packed with activities – like attending well-loved summer festivals, including the Missouri State Fair. It’s an epic festival that draws Missourians from all over the state.
For 11 epic days in August, the Missouri State Fair in Sedalia promises a full menu of classic summertime fun.
Slated for August 11-21 at the Missouri State Fairgrounds in Sedalia, the fair offers something for everyone – whether you’re craving good, old-fashioned fair food, or you feel like spending the day riding carnival rides.
The festival boasts a whole lot of popular carnival rides, games, and food. You can also purchase Missouri State Fair tickets at a discounted rate, beginning in July.
The Missouri State Fair is also the place to be for live entertainment this summer. A number of performers are already scheduled to perform, including Trace Atkins, ZZ Top, and Cedar Creek.
Have a competitive spirit? Either join one of the competitions or catch one, such as the Homegrown Singer Contest. Tractor pulls, truck pulls, and car races are also highlights of the annual festival.
Billed as “Missouri’s Largest AG Exposition,” the beloved summer festival also offers plenty of opportunities to see farm animals up-close and to watch the livestock shows and contests.
Explore the many buildings and stages, too, when you visit. The kiddos can feed animals at the Children’s Barnyard. Sip wine at the Wine Tent, and catch a few free shows on the Ditzfeld Stage.
