That’s what’s so great about books that are made into films. We can experience a captivating story in a whole new way. That’s just what you can do when you read the novel and watch the film Gone Girl, which has a Missouri connection. Did you know parts of this popular movie were filmed in Cape Girardeau, Missouri?
Gone Girl tells the gripping story of a woman, heartbroken after having learned of her husband’s affair, who goes missing from a small town in Missouri. All signs point to a violent murder at the hands of her husband.
However, a series of twists and turns reveal that Amy, the main character, is alive as her husband sweats under the glaring lights of suspicion. A fast-paced tale, where you never know what’s going to happen next, ensues.
The popular Hollywood film, released in 2014, stars Ben Affleck, Rosamund Pike, Neil Patrick Harris, and Tyler Perry. Set in the fictional small town of North Carthage, many of the film’s scenes were actually filmed in Cape Girardeau.
