There is one town in Missouri that totally transforms in the fall. This small river towns turns into a bustling tourist attraction each September as the weather cools, the leaves change, and the harvest season begins. Hermann, located on the banks of the Missouri River, is located in the heart of Missouri wine country and hosts many fun fall events. Each fall the town comes alive as the many wineries celebrate the harvest season, followed by a huge community celebration for Oktoberfest. With its quaint small town charm, beautiful scenery and many attractions, Hermann is the one Missouri town everyone must visit this Fall.
Hermann is one of the most beautiful towns in Missouri but this little river town really shines in the fall.
Hermann was founded by the German Settlement Society of Philadelphia in 1837. The German heritage of the area is still very present and Hermann holds one of the largest Oktoberfests in the state.
In addition to all the fun of Oktoberfest, Hermann is a great place for a relaxing weekend trip. Whether your planning a girls weekend or a romantic getaway, Hermann is the perfect choice.
Don't forget to visit one of the six wineries on the Hermann Wine Trail. Hermann is a designated American Viticultural Area and is well known for producing high quality wines.
