There are few places in Missouri where time stand still. Modern technologies continue to improve our lives and make day-to-day living a bit easier, but in this unique village in Missouri they’re still doing things the old-fashioned way. In Missouri Town everything is just as it was in 1855, people tend the land and use what they can make and can grow to survive. This unique village is actually a living history museum and it’s the best way to travel back in time with your family. Check it out this weekend!
Located in Fleming Park, Missouri Town 1855 is a beautiful 30 acre museum that allows a glimpse into the past.
Each building on the site was constructed between 1820 and 1860. Even the furnishings inside date back to the mid-1800's. It's a completely authentic experience.
See rare breeds of livestock at Missouri Towns. You can learn about caring for farm animals and gain insight on the importance animals for daily life on the frontier.
Visitors can learn first-hand about the hardships that people faced everyday in the mid-1800's. There are many demonstrations and events throughout the year where visitors can try their hand at chores from the mid-1800's.
Each fall, Missouri Town comes alive with a stunning festival. It's one of the most popular festivals in the Kansas City area and has been attracting thousands of families for over 40 years. Your family can enjoy period music, dance, games, crafts, a fun-filled hayride, and delicious foods.
This year's festival will be held on October 6th and 7th. Admission is $10 per car and $20 per bus.
Missouri Towns 1855 is currently open Tuesday from 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. After Nov. 16th, Missouri Town is only open on weekends from 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
